Here's a partial list of the projects that we sponsored within the month of October:

  • TWO (2) DRUG ABUSE SEMINARS: For  High Shool students, wherein, the participants (approx 200 students) were previously identified by their school faculty as "hardcore" students meaning-those who are most likely to fall into the trap of the drug menace (if they are not into the habit, yet).
  • FREE EYE CHECKUPS: For approximately 200 elementary students from Pateros and Taguig. The sponsorship/expenses for this project  was shared with other Rotary Clubs within District.
  • FREE X-RAY: A part of Rotary's Anti-TB initiative.  More than 100 Taguig residents were given free chest x-rays.The sponsorship/expenses for this project was shared with other Rotary Clubs within District.
  • FREE EYE GLASSES: For 200 elementary students from Pateros and Taguig. The sponsorship/expenses for this project was shared with other Rotary Clubs within District.
  • THE PARTICIPATION OF FIVE (5) PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS: From the R.Papa High School to the annual convention of Rotary District Interact Advisory Council (DISAC).
  • THE FLU VACCINATION PROGRAM: Free Flu Shots for Public School Teachers and Rotary Volunteers.  Rotarians, Family Members & Friends paid a discounted fee to be able to get Flu immunization for one year.  The proceeds of the project was used to finance the Flu Shots of the beneficiaries. Pres. Joel was able to secure the vaccines before the shortage was discovered in the U.S. :-)
  • MEGA-JOBS FAIR: A one day affair that resulted n the hiring of approximately 200 new employees and the possible employment of Two Hundred (200) more. The activity was co-sponsored with other Rotary Clubs within District 3830.
  • EMERGENCY OPTICAL EXAMINATION: For a member of the High School Faculty of one Public School.
  • On top of that we had the GOVERNOR'S TEAM VISIT wherein, we reported on the status of our projects to the district governor and was further "asked" to pledge "Several folds" more. :-)
  • Let me check my notes, we seem to have done more than that... :-)  By the way, details of the projects will be added, soon! :-) :-P
